Good Morning church family, today I come to you as a representative of SPRC. Three years ago, Berry was blessed with the appointment of Pastor April Gutierrez. At this time Pastor April and her family have decided to relocate to their hometown of Adrian, Michigan. Pastor April has accepted an appointment at Adrian College as chaplain with some teaching opportunities beginning in January. The family will have their last service at Berry on Sunday, November 24.
While this may seem scary with all the transitions we have in place, Berry is actually in a good position for this. We are a thriving and vital community as seen through our growth in membership and baptisms. We have a solid vision of justice and joy that guides everything that we do.
SPRC will continue to be in conversation with DS Brittany Isaac about this transition and how to proceed with the sale of the building, the move of our worship location, and now the change in our leadership. We know that this may be shocking for you and want to be transparent through the process. SPRC and Pastor April will be holding a question and answer session on Sunday October 20 to share possibilities about what moving forward will look like.
I know I speak for all of us when I say that we are grateful for the gifts that Pastor April, Evan, Silvio and Miriam brought to this community and thank them for three years of service.
Thank you.
Erin Windham, SPRC Representative
